Crown Tavern, 7 Bow lane, Cheapside EC2

St Mary le Bow pub history index

In the 1770-1780 Masonic Lodges listing, the Crown, Bow Lane is the meeting place of the Castle Lodge, and apparently constituted on the January 22nd 1724

As Elizabeth Reader is listed for both the Crown Tavern and the Crown Tap at 73 Watling street in 1865, I am presuming these premises are attached. All the census data is for 7 Bow lane. There are two consecutive entries in the 1841 census for St Mary Aldemary, both listed as Watling street. One of these is clearly the Tap.
