Bishopsgate street in 1682 Morgans Map records 713 Bull Inne ; 714 Green dragon Inne ; 715 Four Swan Inne and 721 Vine Inne.
It was in existence before and rebuilt after the Great Fire of 1666. The original inn was demolished in 1873, but the licensed premises seems to have continued in some form until the early years of the 20th century, the last mention I have seen being 1914. **

The Morgans map of 1682 lists a reference in its key as - '715 Four Swan Inne' in Bishopsgate street.
On 20th January 1706 my great, great, great, great Grandfather William Damer
wrote his will leaving his dwelling and the Inn Four Swans plus stabling etc
to his wife Margaret. Not sure when he died or when probate was granted as
the writing is very small and in Latin. The will can be found under the
Prerogative Court of Canterbury wills 1384 - 1858. Probate 11 Wills
1705-1712 Piece 501, Barrett, Quire Numbers 89 - 133 (1708) He had two son's
Joseph Damer and John Damer and a grandson John damer also mentioned in the
will one of whom presumably inherited the Four Swans if their mother did not
sell it before she died. *
The Rocques map of 1746 clearly marks the Four Swan Inn, Bishopsgate street.
