The pub re-opened it's doors in November 1980, it's manager was Hugh Fowler,
and the owner was Courage brewery. It was separated then into three areas
with the Main Bar called the Crown & Anchor, the Public Bar "mainly printers
from the telegraph" was called Aunties Bar, and the restaurant / cocktail bar
was named Spatz, I spent two years there as a cellar man, and it was
Courage's busiest pub at the time with up to 10 bar staff working the
lunchtime shift for the 2 bars. *
