The photograph is of The Forest Hill Tavern, Forest Hill Road, East Dulwich, and I believe that it was taken sometime in the late fifties of early sixties when S C Dellow was licensee, as it was given to me by either Les Dellow or his wife over thirty years ago.
Les died in July 1986 and his wife in 1989

My father, William Henry Sol Foster (1896-1977), was licensee of the Prince Regent, South Street, Walworth before moving on to the Forest Hill Tavern, East Dulwich in 1930. He had the pub until Syd Dellow took over in 1940. *

Mr Dellow has been the licensee of the Forest Hill Tavern since 1940. he began his trade career with five years as manager of the Amersham Arms at New Cross. In 1932 he and his wife started their long association with THB when they took over the White Hart at Greenwich. He ran both this house and and his present one from 1940 to 1952, when he gave up the White Hart to his friend, Albert Sanders, the present licensee.
He completed an apprenticeship as a Marine Engineer and obtained his 2nd Engineer's Ticket. During the First World war, he served in the Royal Marines, but was invalided out from Gallipoli in 1917. He then went to Woolwich Arsenal and afterwards to Whiteheads of Weymouth to work on torpedo construction. After hospitalities, he was in charge of the machine shop of a large aircraft factory and later was responsible for Main Drainage in the S E London area under the LCC.
Mr Dellow married in 1917; he met his wife in the Farquharson Arms, Pimperne, Dorset. Her family have been in the house for 130 years and it is now run by her cousin. Into the little spare time that a licensee has, Mr Dellow manages to cram quite a number of hobbies. He is a keen boatman and fisherman and his workshop and lathe get a lot of use.
Recently the customers of the Forest Hill tavern gave a party to celebrate Mr and Mrs Dellow's twenty one years at the house. - Black Eagle Journal [1961] ***
