John Richard Frankland was my great grandfather and he was the publican at the Grapes Inn. When he died, his wife Mary Jane ran it on her own for a while. In about 1901, she married Alexander (Sandy) McGinn and presumably they ran it together. Mary Jane died before Sandy and I am not sure when he gave up the pub. *
